Mount St. Michael Catholic School is an apostolate of the Christian Community of God’s Delight (CCGD) which is a covenant community of lay families called by God into a relationship to help one another grow in holiness and to bring others into a deeper relationship with God through evangelization. Some would describe CCGD as an “order of families”. The name of the Community comes from Isaiah 62:3-4: “You are to be a crown of splendour in the hand of Yahweh. A princely diadem in the hand of God; no longer are you to be named ‘Forsaken,’ nor your land ‘Abandoned,’ but you shall be called ‘My Delight.’”CCGD developed out of a movement of the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church called the “Charismatic Renewal” in the late 1960’s. In 1990, CCGD was one of the founding member communities from around the world of the Fraternity of Catholic Charismatic Covenant Communities established by Pope John Paul, II. The Fraternity is in relationship with the Holy See through the office of the Laity. Leaders of covenant communities from around the world meet at a conference in Rome every two years along with the cardinal over the Office of the Laity. Membership is determined by the following:
Although all CCGD members celebrate Mass in individual parishes, members and guests gather for spirit-filled worship, sharing God's Word, and encouraging each other in prayer on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 pm in the gymnasium. All are welcome to participate. For more information about the Christian Community of God’s Delight, visit our website at http://www.godsdelight.org/. |
